Centre tables CAG report on Rafale deal in Parliament

New Delhi, Feb 12 The government on Tuesday tabled the CAG report on Rafale jet fighter deal amid uproar by opposition parties in Parliament. The leader of the single biggest party in the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge requested a test by a joint parliamentary board of trustees (JPC) into the arrangement to which Union Minister Rajnath Singh hit back saying the resistance is rehashing the same false facts.

The Congress has been levelling claims of corruption and impropriety in the deal to purchase 36 fighter jets from France, a charge that the Centre has vehemently defended.

The CAG report was tabled on Tuesday, a day before the finish of the present Lok Sabha session, which is the last session before the general elections are held in April-May.
