Chinese Ambassador delighted by Prime Minister Modi's New Year greetings

New Delhi, Feb 6 The Chinese Ambassador to India, Lou Zhaohui on Wednesday expressed happiness over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's welcome to the Chinese people on the occasion of the Chinese Lunar New Year.

Zhaohui on Tuesday composed on his twitter, "Pleased to see Prime Minister Modiji send congrats for the Chinese Lunar New Year in Chinese language in his microblog! PM Modiji wrote: ’Happy Chinese New Year! Wish each Chinese happiness, wealth and health in the Year of Pig.

Prime Minister Modi normally collaborates with the Chinese people through his record on Weibo, a standout amongst the most prevalent web-based social networking stage in China that coordinates the highlights of Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

Chinese all over world bade goodbye to the 'Time of the Dog' and welcomed the 'Year of the Pig' on Tuesday, introducing the Lunar New Year with petitions, family feasts and often with an extravaganza of lights and fireworks. On the eve of New Year, people exchange envelopes loaded up with cash as an indication of good luck.

The pig is considered a symbol of good fortune and wealth and those born in the year of the pig are thought of as hardworking and friendly. The most recent year of the pig fell in 2007.The years under the Chinese lunar logbook are separated into a 12-year cycle, with every year assigned an animal symbol: rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and pig.

The date is also celebrated as Spring Festival, which stays for the Chinese their most critical and most terrific yearly event.Earlier, Indian Army and China's People's Liberation Army work force praised the Chinese New Year by welcome each other at Nathu La Pass in Sikkim.Both designations were driven by colonel-level officers, who traded merriments and all the best in a climate of warmth and companionship.

This is yet another step, aimed at enhancing mutual trust and promoting border peace and tranquillity, according to an official statement.
