Itanagar, Feb 9 Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday introduced and established framework stone of projects in Arunachal Pradesh worth over Rs 4,000 crore and said his legislature was giving a great deal of significance to enhance network in the sensitive border state.
Addressing at function at IG Park here, he said his legislature was offering significance to improve the highway, railway, airway and power situation in Arunachal Pradesh, which was neglected by the past governments.
Terming the state "pride" of the nation, Modi said it is the gateway of the country as it guards the frontier. It is the obligation of the government to build up the state at any cost, he said.
"Arunachal is an image of confidence for the nation as it gives us quality. The general population used to welcome each other with 'Jai Hind' and I salute the general population for their energy," the head administrator said including, India will grow just if Arunachal and the entire northeast develops, he said.
"In the past 55 months, I have paid a few visits to Arunachal Pradesh and today initiated and established framework of ventures worth over Rs 4,000 crore," he said.
The prime minister said work is continuing for activities worth Rs 13,000 crore in the state and claimed that the past routine dismissed the upper east district.
"Compare us and the past government and see the difference," he told the audience.
Modi included that his legislature has apportioned Rs 44,000 crore for the area which is double of the previous UPA government.
The previous governments did not care about youth and border security, he asserted.
Modi established the foundation stone for development of greenfield Airport at Hollongi and introduced a redesigned and retrofitted air terminal at Tezu in Lohit region at a value of Rs 125 crore through remote at a capacity at IG Park here.
The Tezu air terminal will connect Guwahati, Jorhat and Hollongi. Products of the soil of the locale can achieve any market of the nation in a couple of hours, he said.
Terming tourism as a cash spinner for the express, the leader said that with the coming up of the greenfield airplane terminal and rail arrange, the industry would thrive and many unemployed youth would get employment opportunities.
The prime minister laid the foundation stone of Sela Tunnel in Arunachal Pradesh. It will give all climate network to Tawang Valley for regular citizens just as security powers. He initiated the new Doordarshan 24-hours channel for Arunachal Pradesh, DD Arun Prabha. The channel will be the 24th channel worked by Doordarshan.
