India, Spain consent to 7 agreements amid PM's visit

Madrid, May 31 India and Spain today consented to seven agreements, including on cyber security and technical collaboration in common flight, amid Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the European nation.

The assentions were marked after Prime Minister Modi held boundless converses with Spanish President Mariano Rajoy at the Moncloa Palace in the Spanish capital.

The two sides agreements on transfer of sentenced people and visa waiver for holders of diplomatic passports.

Five MoUs were marked between the two nations on collaboration in organ transplantation, digital security, sustainable power source, common flying and one between India's Foreign Service Institute and Diplomatic Academy of Spain.

Modi, the first Indian prime minister to visit Spain since 1988, adulated the Spanish president saying under Rajoy's initiative the nation has experienced monetary changes "which is additionally the greatest need of my legislature."

Spain is India's seventh trading partner in the European Union. Two-way exchange totalled USD 5.27 billion in 2016.

Modi supported Spanish foundation, tourism, vitality and safeguard organizations to put resources into need areas in India, saying "It's an extraordinary time for Spanish organizations to put resources into India.
