Atishi: Gautam Gambhir's celebrity status will conflict against him

New Delhi, May 7 Claiming that her BJP rival Gautam Gambhir is proving to be a beginner whose superstar status will conflict with him, AAP's East Delhi candidate Atishi says individuals should need to see stars however need their delegates to be accessible to them in their everyday lives.

The Oxford graduate, who believes the BJP is her main opponent and the Congress is number three in the electoral race, said individuals won't vote for the former cricketer because they know he will anyway get disqualified after the elections.

Gautam Gambhir is also proving to be a novice applicant. His nomination from was not filed correctly. He has two voter ID cards. Individuals have this mindset - presently that Gambhir has two voter ID cards he will at any rate get excluded so why squander our vote on him, Atishi told.

The 37-year-old, who doesn't use her second name Marlena yet has not dropped it authoritatively, said superstars have a disservice. Individuals will come to see them yet a MP is somebody they need in their regular day to day existences, she clarified.

Everybody knows Gautam Gambhir is a star who will be in Bombay, London and Johannesburg. He won't be accessible to take care of individuals of his constituency, she said.

The AAP competitor is secured a three-route battle with Gambhir and Congress' Arvinder Singh Lovely in the elections on May 12, the penultimate round of the seven-phase polls.

According to Atishi, the third spot in this election is reserved for the Congress and its job is close to that of a vote-cutting party.

Calling the BJP her primary challenge, she said an examination of past races will demonstrate the Congress has been third every time.

In this decision as well, we will see a rehash of that... in 2015, the Congress lost its stores on 90 percent of the seats. It will get rehashed. Nobody needs to vote in favor of a losing hopeful. I met some conventional Congress supporters yet they said this time they will vote in favor of the Aam Aadmi Party as the Congress isn't even in the battle, Atishi stated.

On the Opposition targeting her for her surname, Atishi said it is on the grounds that they don't have anything else against her.

The Opposition has nothing against me so they are trying to pull a rabbit out of a cap. A Congress MLA is stating I am a Jew. This is something that can be checked inside minutes. These things are pointers the Congress is presently getting urgent. In 2015, something very similar happened when the BJP and the Congress propelled monstrous assaults against Kejriwal. It is an indication of their edginess, she said.

There is something that is an intelligent attack but this one is baseless and it will not stick, she added.

In Atishi's view, her biggest strength is the work she has done in the education sector.

About 2.5 lakh students stay in East Delhi. These individuals have encountered in their very own substantive way what their vote to the AAP has done... also, when they casted a ballot four years back for the Aam Aadmi Party how it changed the lives of their youngsters. I imagine that is something very powerful, she said.

Discussing her vision for the East Delhi voting demographic, Atishi said the principle center this time is the battle for full statehood on the grounds that numerous issues looked by the residents of East Delhi are identified with the structure of governance.

For example, safety and security in East Delhi is a very big concern and this is a crosswise over class concern. Is anything but an issue that one section faces and another does not... But since Delhi Police goes under the Central government there are essentially no means being taken, she said.

Education, she included, is another major concern as it is one of the most neglected areas.

We have attempted to correct that to the extent schools go. Be that as it may, advanced education still does not go under Delhi government so improving advanced education is likewise identified with the issue of full statehood, she said.

She listed affordable housing as an important concern for the area.

Why does 80 percent of East Delhi live in unapproved settlements. Nobody needs to live in unauthorised colonies due to issues of clean and cleanliness... individuals remain in unapproved provinces since they have no other decision and that actually should be transformed, she noted.

How will she will address the issues of the general population till full statehood is accomplished?

MPs are members in DDA, they can improve land allotment in schools, colleges, medical clinics. MPs head the area insightful council on observing how government bodies work. So incrementally MPs all alone can improve the situation, she included.
