Supreme Court expels plea seeking direction to debar Rahul Gandhi from contesting Lok Sabha polls

New Delhi, May 9 The Supreme Court Thursday expelled a plea seeking direction to the Center and the Election Commission to debar Congress President Rahul Gandhi from challenging Lok Sabha elections till the issue of his citizenship is chosen.

A seat headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi rejected the dispute of the petitioners, who said that in a form along with the yearly data of a UK-based company in 2005-06, it was allegedly mentioned that Rahul Gandhi is a British citizen.
