Ajay Maken: Congress will win 208 seats in Delhi MCD polls

New Delhi, Apr 21 Congress today guaranteed that the gathering will prevail upon 200 seats in the municipal body polls planned on Sunday.

"According to an interior study led with an example size of 52,000 voters in 13,000 polling booths, Congress will win 208 wards among an aggregate of 272 in three municipal corporations," Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken said in a press conference here.

He hit out at BJP and AAP, blaming them for running an "antagonistic" battle as opposed to proposing answers for the issues confronted by the people.

He said hoardings of both the party, rather than highlighting their accomplishments, are concentrating on adversaries and charges against them.

"Arvind Kejriwal began this pattern, however the people of Delhi need to comprehend what parties can accomplish for them and what have they done," he said.

Be that as it may, Congress has turned out with guides on sanitation, primary health and education, financial independence of municipal bodies, with an intend to take care of the issues once voted to power, he said.

"We ask for the people to vote in favour of positive administration.

39 best leaders of the party, including Ghulam Nabi Azad, Anand Sharma, Shashi Tharoor, Oscar Fernandes, Bhoopinder Singh Hooda, Salman Khursheed, Raj Babbar among others crusaded for the Congress in various parts of the city.

The All India Congress Committee (AICC) had named 70 Assembly spectators and 14 locale eyewitnesses for the MCD races.

The vote in favor of community bodies decisions will be thrown on April 23. Numbering of votes and declaration of results will happen on April 26.

Delhi has 272 wards altogether NDMC (104), SDMC (104) and EDMC (64).
