Srinagar, Apr 27 Militants today assaulted an armed force camp in Kupwara district of north Kashmir, killing three faculty, including a captain, and leaving five fighters harmed.
Two presumed Jaish-e-Mohammed militants were executed in the retaliatory action.
A defence representative said here that the militants assaulted the armed force camp at Panzgam in Kupwara, 100 kms from here, at 4 AM.
Three armed force staff, including an officer, were murdered by the attackers before the two militants were killed, the spokesman said.
The deceased officer has been distinguished as Capt Ayush but the names of the two fighters were not instantly known, official sources said.
Officials said five other soldiers were likewise harmed in the assault. The harmed fighters were carried to Army's 92 base hospital here for treatment.
A hunt is on to discover if any militant figured out how to sneak into the camp under the cover of darkness, official sources said.
The staff at the camp are included in road opening duties in the area.
