Lucknow, Apr 16 Union Home minister Rajnath Singh Tuesday recorded his designation papers for the Lucknow Lok Sabha situate in the wake of holding a roadshow in the Uttar Pradesh capital, where BJP supporters turned up in large numbers and showered flower petals on him.
Joined by Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Mahendra Nath Pandey, Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma and previous Union priest Kalraj Mishra, Singh presented his election affidavit to Lucknow District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma.
Prior in the day, Singh took out a roadshow which went through Hazratganj, one of the arterial roads in the capital city, where BJP workers turned up to show their support to the leader.
Hazratganj donned a botanical look as BJP supporters showered bloom petals on Singh as he drove the roadshow on his approach to file nomination papers.
Looking for a second term in the Lok Sabha from Lucknow, Singh, who was joined by senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) pioneers in an uncommon vehicle, halted to offer petitions at the Dakshinmukhi Hanuman temple in Hazratganj, before the procession moved on.
The home minister also offered prayers at the famous Hanuman Setu temple here before embarking on the roadshow.
Addressing the party laborers at the state BJP home office here before the roadshow, Singh stated, "India has flooded ahead under the administration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the whole world has recognized the way that Modi has done marvels to enable the nation to accomplish extraordinary statures".
"I have toured 10 states and the attraction towards Modi is astonishing. The whole nation needs to see him re-elected as the leader," he said.
