Jammu, June 27 The first batch of Amarnath pilgrims reached Udhampur on Wednesday morning, where they were invited by local people and officers of the area organization.
The Yatra started today in the midst of tight security arrangements made by the Central Reserve Police Force alongside the armed force and the local police.
"All security arrangements have been made. We have cross-checked each possibility. We're using most recent innovation and vehicles, and labor has been expanded when contrasted with a year ago," A V Chauhan, Inspector General CRPF Jammu Sector, told.
The security personnel have made new additional arrangements, for example, RIFD (radio recurrence ID) to track the vehicles and keep them from getting lost. Bicycle ambulances have additionally been presented for fast emergency treatment or medicinal help.

Meanwhile, pilgrims from the first batch guaranteed finish cooperation with the security forces.
"We are very happy that we are going for Amarnath Yatra. We don't fear anything here. All security arrangements are up to the mark. Every year there are changes in the security," an explorer said.
Till now, almost two lakh pilgrims from the nation over have purportedly enrolled themselves for the Yatra.
Security measures have been taken keeping in mind the ceasefire violations from over the border and various other terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
On July 10 a year ago, at least nine Amarnath pilgrims were killed and 19 others were injured in an assault on a bus in Anantnag area.
