United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley to visit India today

Washington June 26 United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley will start her three-day visit to India on Tuesday.

The 46-year-old diplomat, who is the highest ranking Indian-American in US President Donald Trump's organization, will meet senior Indian Government officials, NGO leaders among others and talk about a large group of subjects including India-US vital ties and significant global developments.

Nimrata "Nikki" Haley is at present the 29th United States Ambassador to the United Nations. She filled in as the 116th legislative leader of South Carolina and is a previous individual from the South Carolina House of Representatives.

Her visit comes few days after several Indians were detained at Oregon and New Mexico for wrongfully entering the US as a major aspect of Trump's Zero Tolerance Policy.

Haley's visit will be trailed by a 2+2 discourse between the US and India on July 6. It will be gone to by the US Department of State, US Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo and Secretary of Defense James Mattis will have Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the dialogue.

They are expected to discuss bilateral defense and security cooperation.
