MEA denies accepting request for Rahul's visit for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra

New Delhi, June 28 The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Thursday said that the service has not gotten any formal demand for Congress President Rahul Gandhi's visit for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

Tending to the media, MEA representative Raveesh Kumar stated, "We have not gotten any formal demand for Rahul Gandhi's visit to Kailash Mansarovar Yatra."

Reportedly, the Congress had claimed that Gandhi connected for special permission, which is normally conceded to Members of Parliament (MPs) however was yet to get an answer so distant from the MEA.

While tending to a rally on April 30, the Congress President had declared that he will attempt the Kailash Mansarovar journey post-Karnataka Assembly decisions.

Gandhi had stated that the thought of Yatra struck his mind when he was travelling to Karnataka in a chartered aircraft that all of a sudden plunged by 8,000 feet due to a technical snag.

This year's Kailash Mansarovar Yatra had begun on June 8.

The four-month travel period of the pilgrimage begins in June. Thousands of Indian pilgrims participate in the Yatra consistently by means of Nepal in the Tibetan Autonomous Region of China ahead of the monsoon season.
