Pune, Nov 30 The Indian Army isn't yet ready to have women in battle jobs, Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat said Friday.

Supreme Court issues notice to Ramdev on book publisher's plea against Delhi HC order

New Delhi, Nov 30 The Supreme Court on Friday issued a notice to Yoga Guru Ramdev on a publisher's plea which challenged the Delhi High Court's verdict limiting the deal and publication of a book purportedly on his life.

The high court had passed the restraining order after Ramdev guaranteed that the book, titled 'Godman To Tycoon' had slanderous substance, as revealed by news agency PTI.

The apex court scheduled the issue for hearing in the first week of February 2019.

"We will issue notice to Respondent 1 (Ramdev)," PTI reported quoting a bench of judges Madan B Lokur and Deepak Gupta.

The publisher, Juggernaut Books, moved toward the apex court testing the high court's September 29 judgement.

Prior, Ramdev had filed the plea in the high court against the book saying the book, purportedly on his life, had abusive substance and hurt his economic interests and reputation.

ACP Prem Ballabh commits suicide by jumping off Delhi Police Police headquarters

New Delhi, Nov 29 An Assistant Commissioner of Police rank official, Prem Ballabh, allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the Delhi Police home office working in the national capital. The 55-year-old ACP allegedly hopped from the tenth floor of the building located near ITO in Delhi.

Jaipur, Nov 28 Congress president Rahul Gandhi would visit Udaipur division in the state to address elections rallies on December 1.

Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit Udaipur, Chittorgarh and Bhilwara. The AICC president visited Ajmer dargah and Pushkar and tended to mobilizes at Jaisalmer, Jalore and Jodhpur on Monday.

The state is going to poll on December 7.

Maharashtra assembly speaker's comment at Congress triggers protests

Mumbai, Nov 28 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Haribhau Bagde's comment on the Congress' "culture" triggered a wave of protests in the House, with the NCP also participate in the uproar and backing the grand old party.

As protests mounted, the speaker clarified that he didn't mean to disrespect anyone.

The speaker passed the remark in light of specific motions made by Congress MLA Mohammed Arif Naseem Khan who was trying to draw attention of the Chair to some issue.

Protesting the motions, members of treasury seats said they added up to offending the Chair, to which Bagde commented: "This is the way of life of Congress".

Joining the issue, Ajit Pawar (Nationalist Congress Party) said the speaker's comment was questionable since the Congress' commitment to the opportunity battle and country building can't be ignored.

"I was also connected with the party before," he said.

To this, Bagde said he didn't mean any lack of regard.

Unhappy with the speaker's explanation, the MLAs driven by Leader of Opposition Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil climbed the speaker's platform and shouted slogans against him.

In the midst of racket, managing officer Yogesh Sagar took up the calling consideration sees for discussion.

Sushma Swaraj: Kartarpur corridor not connected with Pakistan
