Delhi CEO Vijay Kumar Dev appointed as chief secretary

New Delhi, Nov 23 Delhi Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vijay Kumar Dev has been appointed as the chief secretary of the national capital, an official request said.

The Ministry of Home Affairs had Thursday issued the request selecting the 1987-cluster IAS officer of the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territory) unit.

Dev will succeed Anshu Prakash following his exchange to the bureau of broadcast communications in the Central government.

Prakash, who was supposedly struck at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's living arrangement in February, has been designated as extra secretary in the telecom division.

The outgoing chief secretary hosted guaranteed that some Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) lawmakers, within the sight of Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia, had whipped him prompting a standoff between the Delhi chief minister and the bureaucrats.

Dev will hold the post of chief secretary superseding 1986-clump IAS officer Manoj Parida who is presently filling in as additional chief secretary (home) and key secretary in the Public Works Department (PWD).

"With the approval of the skilled specialist, it has been chosen to designate Vijay Kumar Dev, IAS (AGMUT:1987) as Chief Secretary, Government of NCT of Delhi with impact from the date of joining till further requests," the service said in its request.

Dev has also filled in as Chandigarh UT counsellor and is as of now posted as CEO of Delhi, his second spell as the top official in the poll body.
