Guwahati, Nov 29 The world considers India to be a famous power which is expected to play a prominent role in shaping the global paradigm with respect to international security, trade and trade, President Ram Nath Kovind said here on Thursday.
"I have just returned come back from a visit to Vietnam and Australia. I had exchanges with the pioneers of both these nations on various zones of shared interest...The consultations made one thing amply clear that the world takes a gander at India differently today," he said.
"India is seen as a eminent power, expected to play a prominent role in shaping the global paradigm with respect to global security, trade and business, and natural assurance. India's ascent in the worldwide request has numerous measurements to it and it draws vigorously from the capacities and valour of our military," Kovind said.
He said however India remains solidly dedicated to harmony, it is resolved to use all its strength to secure its sovereignty.
"Whenever an occasion demanded, our bold people in uniform have guaranteed that the country has dealt with the security challenges forcefully and effectively," he said.
Awarding the Standards to 118 Helicopter Unit and Colors to Air Defence College here, Kovind said both these units have a rich history of expert greatness and have released their duties with distinction.
The country praises them today for their magnanimous commitment, polished skill and bravery even with misfortune, he said.
"The unit has likewise contributed towards philanthropic help and alleviation activities amid cataclysmic events. The saying of the unit 'Aapatsu Mitram', which signifies 'companion in trouble', is without a doubt a well-suited one," he said.
Kovind said the Air Defence College has accomplished huge achievements in preparing in the previous 60 years.
The college provides professional training not only to officers of Indian Air Force but also to services and officers from friendly countries.
