New Delhi, Nov 23 Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday distanced himself from his senior party member CP Joshi's controversial remark that 'just Brahmins know and can discuss Hinduism'.
Slamming Joshi, the Congress chief said that the former's comment is the inverse of the estimations of the stupendous old party. He further said that his party leaders ought not give proclamations which can hurt assumptions of any area.
Taking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi stated, "CP Joshi's remark is the inverse of the estimations of Congress party. Party leaders ought not give articulations which can hurt opinions of any section."
The Gandhi scion's announcement came after a video of Joshi surfaced on Thursday in which he is heard saying that just pandits and brahmins thought about Hinduism and were sufficiently adapted to talk about it.
"Does anybody realize what is the caste of Uma Bharti? What is the position of Sadhvi Ritambhara? In this nation, in the event that anybody thinks about religion, it is the pandits and the brahmins," Joshi is heard saying in the video.
Joshi was talking at an occasion in Rajasthan's Nathdwara. The state is going to polls in a single phase on December 7 while the counting is planned to be held on December 11.
