Ailing Goa Chief Minister to attend whole 3-day session of Assembly

Panaji Jan 24 Ailing Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will go to the whole three-day session of the state Assembly that is scheduled to start on January 29, Speaker Pramod Sawant said on Thursday.

Conversing with PTI, Sawant said on the second day of session, Parrikar will show the Budget in the House and then table the vote-on-represent five months. "Parrikar will go to the Assembly session on all three days," he said.

Senator Mridula Sinha will give her customary address to the House on the first day of the session, he included. Parrikar, who has been experiencing a pancreatic sickness, was admitted to hospitals in Goa, Mumbai, Delhi and America a year ago. As far back as his release from the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), New Delhi in October a year ago, he has been recovering at his private residence in Goa.

The former Defence minister has shown up. The CM had led Business Advisory Committee meeting not long ago. Reacting to a question, Sawant said BJP MLA Pandurang Madkaikar, who has additionally been feeble since June a year ago, is likely to attend the session.

"We are yet to get any communication from the Madkaikar's office that he won't go to the Session," he said. In the interim, the workplace of the speaker has gotten all out 419 inquiries for the three-day session, including 137 featured and 282 unstarred questions.

It has also gotten three government Bills for tabling-The Goa Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Amendment) Bill 2019, The Goa Goods and Services Tax (revision) bill, 2019 and The Goa Co-operative Societies (alteration) Bill 2019.
