Norway Prime Minister to visit India next week

New Delhi, Jan 3 Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg will pay a three-day visit to India next week during which she will hold converses with her Indian partner Narendra Modi on a large group of issues with an aim expand the multi-faceted bilateral partnership.

Solberg, who will arrive in India on January 7, will deliver the inaugural address at the Raisina Dialog and address India-Norway Business Summit amid her visit, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement.

She will also call on President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, other than holding talks with Prime Minister Modi.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will also call on Solberg during her India visit.

The upcoming visit of Prime Minister Solberg will give a chance to the opposite sides to review the progress in bilateral cooperation and talk about approaches to also extend the multi-faceted association in regions of common interest, the MEA said in a statement.

"India and Norway enjoy close and multi-faceted ties. Financial and technical cooperation are important facets of our respective connection. In excess of 100 Norwegian organizations have put resources into India in areas, for example, send building, oil related services, hydro-power, clean vitality and IT services," it said.

A few noteworthy Indian organizations are additionally present in Norway. India and Norway have shared enthusiasm for manageable utilization of sea assets for development of the two nations' economies, the announcement said.
