Arun Jaitley goes to US for medical check up

New Delhi, Jan 15 Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has unexpectedly left for the US for a medicinal examination identifying with his kidney ailment, sources said.

Jaitley, who had undergone a renal transplant medical procedure on May 14, 2018, had not travelled abroad in last nine months.

He was scheduled to attend 10th India-UK Economic and Financial Dialog in London in April a year ago, but had dropped his visit because of his kidney ailment.

Sources stated, he left for the US on Sunday night for a medicinal examination. Jaitley is to show his 6th and the BJP-drove NDA government's keep going spending plan on February 1.

In spite of the fact that it should be a between time Budget, it is generally expected that his discourse would have been full length budget speech.

Jaitley was admitted to AIIMS a year ago toward the beginning of April following which he experienced dialysis. He had a renal transplant surgery on May 14, 2018.

In his absence, Railways Minister Piyush Goyal was given the additional charge of Finance Ministry on May 14.

Jaitley, 66, who had quit going to office toward the start of April, and was back in North Block - the seat of Finance Ministry - on August 23.

Jaitley had in September 2014, undergone a bariatric surgery to treat weight gain that he suffered due to a long-standing diabetic condition.

That surgery was first performed at Max Hospital, yet Jaitley was later moved to AIIMS because of complications. He had a heart surgery several years ago.
