BSP to support Congress in Madhya Pradesh

New Delhi, Dec 12 Seeking to "keep the BJP out of power", BSP chief Mayawati Wednesday said her party will stretch out help to the Congress to form government in Madhya Pradesh and, whenever required, in Rajasthan as well.

With the Congress managing a wafer-thin majority in Madhya Pradesh, she said the BJP is attempting endeavors to come back to control in the state.

"We battled decisions to keep the BJP out of intensity ... We don't concur with the reasoning of the Congress. Be that as it may, to keep the BJP out of intensity, we will expand it our help," she said.

The previous Uttar Pradesh chief minister also said that if the need emerges, the BSP will support the Congress in Rajasthan to form the government.

She said however her party battled well in the assembly polls it couldn't get situates according to its expectations.

Mayawati said that people voted in favor of the Congress as they found it as an alternative to the BJP.

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief said the Congress will use the mandate of the assembly polls to its advantage in the Lok Sabha decisions, even as she encouraged her gathering unit to prepare for the 2019 constituent fight.

The Congress, which was secured a tempting see-saw fight with the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, hosts developed as the single-biggest get-together with 114 seats after the vote tally finished on Wednesday morning, as per the State Election Commission Office.

The party is, in any case, two short of the simple majority mark, 116 seats, in the 230-part Assembly. The BJP was not far behind with 109 seats.

The Bahujan Samaj Party won two seats and the Samajwadi Party one. Independents stowed four seats, Madhya Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer V L Kantha Rao told PTI.
