INNER GOODNESS BRINGS OUT YOUR TRUE GREATNESS by:- Kamal Jain

We all wish to be great. Greatness is in all of us which we need to unleash. Greatness can be
said to have natural ability to be better than others. In common parlance, the greatness is
associated with popularity, fame and wealth. Pursuing such greatness leads us to worldly
competition and rat race resulting in frustration, loss of peace and turbulence in mind in the
end. The greatness stemming from prosperity and popularity is available to few.
The true greatness comes out from within and has nothing to do with outer progress,
prosperity, and wealth. We must not confuse greatness with material success. True greatness
is such that it maintains the peace of mind, harmony and balance in life. It happens only with
the touch of inner goodness. Such greatness is within reach of every one. Greatness and
Goodness both are globally acknowledged fact but it is goodness which is universally loved
more. The difference between these two is that goodness is inner phenomenon which finds
expression outside in the form of true greatness. Greatness as a flowering of our inner
goodness is also respected very much because it is getting expressed in a human way. It
finds divine expression when efforts are there to elevate, enrich and support each other to
touch the higher planes of fulfilment and consciousness.
Human mind has normally the desire for greatness whereas our heart craves goodness. Our
mind and heart both must fall in sync with each other. If the mind works and act according to
the guidance of divine heart, it can achieve the greatness in real and true sense as it would
have the touch of goodness. Such greatness grows and glows. It is ever long-lasting. In
achievement of such greatness, the material success may or may not accrue. The material
success is not prerequisite to true greatness which is embodiment of mental peace, balance
in life, spiritual harmony and growth towards the path of self-realisation as a whole.
We have to develop and cultivate inner goodness. Compassion, forgiveness, honesty, and
feeling of fraternity are some ingredients of recipe of inner goodness. Our spiritual learning,
practice and attitude helps us a lot to earn inner goodness. Negativity must not find any place
in our life. Instead we must embrace enthusiasm, Optimism and contentment. Remain
enthusiastic always. It is self-motivator and gives us faith that there are always other
possibilities. An enthusiastic person never become victim of problem, instead become
problem dissolver or be part of the solution. An enthusiast looks at obstacle as challenge and
converts it into opportunity. He has faith in goodness of life and learns the lessons from
failures and move on.
Optimism is the attitude that one door gets shut, many others are opened. There is always a
way in any hopeless or difficult situation. Some time we are not able to make things happen,
let the things happen in their own way. Realise that it is just a matter of time. An optimist
never harbours the grudge, complaint or resentment as these negative vibrations dissipate
him.
Contentment is the word detrimental to worldly greatness or success. Whereas it is key word
to happiness which is foundation for true greatness. Contentment should not be mistaken for
complacency. It is to enjoy, appreciate fully and draw inner satisfaction from whatever we
have. It is to express gratitude towards God who gave value to our efforts and enabled us to
achieve. Contentment provides us a pause to look at and check if we are on the right path.
This self-observation propels us to progress further and get true greatness.
Goodness and true greatness both are within us but we have to make conscious efforts to
harness inner goodness to bring out real greatness. These two emerge, quite simply, if you
align yourself with inner divine and breathe it out. If we are connected to divine, we rest
assured that all our weakness are curable. Goodness and true greatness are two sides of
same coin of self.
