Dhinakaran aide stops AMMK, joins DMK

Chennai, Dec 14 In what could be seen as a mishap to AMMK founder TTV Dhinakaran, one of his key associates joined the MK Stalin-led DMK Friday.

V Senthil Balaji, one of the 18 disqualified AIADMK MLAs, joined the DMK within the sight of its president Stalin at the party headquarters Anna Arivalayam here.

The defection assumes significance as it comes in the midst of reports that Dhinakaran is thinking that its difficult to keep his rush together in the background of the October Madras High Court decision maintaining Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker P Dhanapal's order disqualifying 18 AIADMK MLAs.

Dhanapal disqualified them a year ago to revolting against Chief Minister K Palaniswami.

Reports guarantee that not all the excluded MLAs are content with Dhinakaran's choice to not to bid against the Madras High Court arrange maintaining their preclusion.

Balaji, Transport Minister in the past 2011-16 AIADMK government headed by late J Jayalalithaa, was chosen from Aravakurichi in the Assembly polls held in 2016.

Be that as it may, he was not enlisted in the bureau at that point. Balaji had spoken to Karur in 2006 and 2011.

Detecting the surrender, Dhinakaran had made a hidden assault on Balaji on Thursday, saying none will atone if some with egotistical interests were to stop the AMMK.

Dhinakaran, contrasting committed gathering laborers with "genuine gold," said nobody will atone if gold plated "counterfeit" were to move out of the gathering.

"Our establishment is Amma's (Jayalalithaa) beliefs, and individuals' welfare is our undertaking," the AMMK pioneer had said.

Without naming Balaji, he said it would be better if the individuals who held perspectives opposing to the objectives of the gathering backed themselves out of the outfit.

Viewed as among those near Dhinakaran, Balaji, who was AMMK organising secretary, did not participate in a party procession here to watch the death anniversary of Jayalalithaa on December 5.

Meanwhile, another disqualified AIADMK MLA, R Murugan, scrutinized Balaji's choice to join the DMK, saying the late AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa had to face the disproportionate assets case which was filed only by the earlier DMK government.
