Lalu shows up before CBI for questioning in hotels-for-land scam

New Delhi, Oct 5 RJD pioneer and former railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav today came to the CBI headquarters here for questioning regarding charged corruption in granting the support contract for two IRCTC hotels to a private firm.

Yadav, who touched base at the headquarters at 11 am, was joined by his daughter Misa and did not address the media. He was taken to the investigation officer while Misa was made a request to hold up in the lobby, CBI sources said.

His child Tejashwi Yadav, the former deputy chief minister of Bihar, is planned to show up before the office tomorrow.

The two were approached by the CBI to show up for addressing on October 5 and 6 in the affirmed corruption case. This was after the two pioneers communicated their failure to show up on October 4 and 5.

It is charged that Yadav, as railway minister in 2006, gave over support of two Railway hotels - BNR Ranchi and Puri - to Sujata Hotel (an organization possessed by Vinay and Vijay Kochhar) in the wake of getting an influence as three sections of land of prime land through a 'benami' (shell) organization.
