उत्तर फ्रंटियर रेलवे (एनएफआर) के प्रवक्ता प्रणव ज्योति शर्मा ने कहा, "हमने मैदानों में सिलिगुड़ी से सुकना तक संकीर्ण 
मार्ग यात्री ट्रेन सेवा को आंशिक रूप से शुरू किया है।"

उन्होंने कहा कि 125 दिनों के लिए सेवा निलंबित रही, मरम्मत और रखरखाव की नौकरी करने की आवश्यकता है, उन्होंने 
फोन पर बताया, गुवाहाटी से फोन पर शर्मा ने कहा कि सिलीगुड़ी से 88 कि.मी. दार्जिलिंग पहाड़ियों तक जंगलों, 
चाय बागानों और कई पुलों और सुरंगों के जरिए 25 अक्टूबर से यात्रा की जाएगी।

उन्होंने कहा कि इंजिन, कोच, पटरियों, स्टेशनों और सिग्नलिंग सिस्टम के रखरखाव से संबंधित काम जल्द ही पूरा हो 
जाएगा और ट्रेन फिर से पूर्ण दूरी को फिर से चला जाएगा।

1 999 में यूनेस्को विश्व विरासत टैग को अर्जित करने वाला 'खिलौना ट्रेन' सेवा, पूरे विश्व में इस पूर्वी पहाड़ी शहर में 
आने वाले पर्यटकों के लिए एक बड़ा आकर्षण है।

हालांकि, पहाड़ी शहर अभी तक सामान्य स्थिति में नहीं आया है और पर्यटकों की अच्छी संख्या में आगमन कुछ समय ले 
सकता है।

"हालांकि वर्तमान में पर्यटक का प्रवाह नगण्य है, लेकिन खिलौना ट्रेन जैसी सेवाओं की पुनरीक्षा निश्चित रूप से पर्यटकों को 
सकारात्मक संदेश देगी," एसोसिएशन फॉर कन्जर्वेशन ऑफ टूरिज्म के संयोजक राज बसु ने कहा, यह एक दाग़ी 
दार्जिलिंग में पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देगा।

 

Kolkata, Oct 17 Services of the legacy Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR), prevalently known as 'toy train', is good to go to continue in the hills from October 25, after its suspension for 125 days because of the strike called by the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM).

The indefinite strike in the Darjeeling hills, called by the GJM for a different province of Gorkhaland on June 15, was lifted following 104 days in front of Durga Puja. Be that as it may, the prepare benefit was restarted mostly up to Sukna from October 15.

The 88-km travel from Siliguri to the Darjeeling hills through woods, tea gardens and various extensions and passages will recommence from October 25, Sharma said.

He said works identifying with support of motors, coaches, tracks, stations and signalling systems would be finished soon and trains would again run the full separation.

The 'toy prepare' benefit, which earned UNESCO World Heritage tag in 1999, is a major appreciation for travelers who rush to this eastern slope town from everywhere throughout the world.

The hill town, nonetheless, is yet to return to regularity and entry of tourists in great numbers may take some time.

"Though tourist inflow at present is negligible, yet recommencement of administrations like the toy prepare will absolutely send a positive message to the visitors," Raj Basu, convener of Association for Conservation of Tourism, stated, a dding this would support tourism in the Darjeeling hills.
