28 murdered as bus falls into gorge

Shimla, July 20 Twenty-eight travellers were killed and eight other harmed when a bus plunged into a 500-feet deep gorge at Khaneri in Rampur on the Hindustan-Tibet National Highway, around 140 km from here, today.

The private bus was conveying 36 travellers from Reckong Peo in Kinnaur to Nauni in Solan when the accident took place.

An authoritative request has been requested to discover the reason for the mischance. Be that as it may, preparatory examinations said a tire burst prompted the mischance.

Assortments of each of the 28 casualties have been recuperated and 11 of them have been distinguished, Deputy Commissioner, Shimla, Rohan Chand Thakur said.

The expired included 18 men, 9 ladies and a child.Four of the seriously injured people have been referred to IGMC Shimla and four other were undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital Khaneri.

The DC said a quick alleviation of Rs 10,000 has been given to the closest relative of the expired.

Additional district Magistrate Suneel Sharma is at the spot supervising relief and rescue operations.

A CISF team is on the spot while a NDRF team from Sunni is on way to Rampur.
