Nitish Kumar government wins certainty vote 131-108

Patna, Jul 28 The Nitish Kumar government today won the crucial floor test in the Bihar Assembly, securing 131 votes against the opposition's 108.

Four members in the 243-member house couldn't vote, reducing the total strength of the house amid the put stock in vote to 239.

With the compelling quality of the House reduced to 239 during voting, Bihar's new government required 120 votes to win the certainty vote.

While Raj Ballabh Yadav of the RJD couldn't go to as he is in prison, BJP's Anand Shankar Pandey was truant as he is experiencing medicinal treatment outside the state. Congress' Sudarshan couldn't vote because of specialized reasons as he was out of the House when the entryways were shut for lobby division.

Speaker Vijay Kumar Chaudhary did not participate in the voting.

chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi did not participate in the voting as both are members of the Legislative Council. In any case, they were available in the house.
