New Delhi, Jul 15 Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today met Home Minister Rajnath Singh to talk about the law and order situation in the state and security to Amarnath pilgrims, authorities said.
Amid the meeting that lasted about thirty minutes, the chief minister advised the home minster about the means taken to maintain peace in the Kashmir Valley.
Steps taken to guarantee the security of Amarnath pioneers were also discussed, authorities said.
Seven pioneers were killed by militants in Anantnag locale while coming back from the Amarnath give in sanctum on Monday.
Security agencies occupied with against militancy operations in Jammu and Kashmir have been advised to execute security designs with full power, authorities said.
Up until this point, more than 1.86 lakh travelers have gone to the high elevation Himalayan holy place.
As many as 21,000 paramilitary staff in addition to state police forces and two battalions of Army have been deployed for security of the pilgrimage routes.
The quantity of paramilitary staff sent for the current year is 9,500 more than a year ago.
Four districts of the state - Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian and Anantnag - have been on the boil since the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani in an experience with security forces on July 8, 2016.
The unrest has continued since the April 9 bypoll to the Srinagar Lok Sabha seat.
