New Delhi, Jul 13 Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) today moved the National Green Tribunal, charging that 35 thermal power plants across the nation have neglected to introduce online profluent and outflow observing framework, notwithstanding its heading.
A seat headed by Justice Jawad Rahim issued notification to the Ministry of Power and 35 warm power stations situated in various parts of the nation and looked for their answers.
The thermal power stations which have been asked to react incorporate Thermal Power Plants in Hasdeo, Raichur, Koradi, Satpura, Khaparkheda, Paras and Parli other than Kamal Sponge Steel And Power Ltd, Indo Rama Synthetics, Uttam Galva Steels, Aurobindo Agro Energy, Kaveri Gas Power Limited, NLC Ltd, Saheli Exports Pvt Ltd and a 16 MW gas-based warm power extend in Tripura.
The supplication, recorded through supporter Balendu Shekhar, has looked for headings to these plants to conform to its request for establishment of online profluent and emission monitoring system.
The request guaranteed that headings were issued under Section 5 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 by the CPCB Chairman on July 21, 2015 to 318 warm power plants situated in different states and union regions for establishment of these systems.
It had guided all state contamination control sheets to introduce online persistent stack outflow observing framework in 17 classes of highly polluting industries and in like manner perilous squanders and biomedical waste incinerators.
Be that as it may, no attractive reaction has been gotten from 35 warm power plants which have "purposely fizzled" to react the bearings issued by the CPCB, it said.
"Guide the warm power stations to set up a period headed activity get ready for establishment of Online Continuous Emission/Effluent Monitoring Systems and execution of such time bound arrangement of activity.
"Force fitting punishments on them on the ground of Polluter Pay Principal by virtue of their non participation and inaction which has brought about colossal loss of wellbeing, soil, creature, yields and ground water and so forth separated from praiseworthy harms," the supplication said.
