Minister in Lok Sabha: Tribal spending plan not sliced

New Delhi, Jul 26 There has been no reduction in the assets for tribals and the Center has just dispensed up to 40 per cent of the money to the states, Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram said today.

Amid the Question Hour in Rajya Sabha, resistance members brought up issues identifying with the deaths of some tribals in the East Godavari area supposedly because of the episode of sustenance harming in May-June.

He said a sum of 16 deaths were reported from May 29 to June 21.

"A field investigation was completed and fitting move has been made. The town Chaparai from where the issue was accounted for is arranged on the slope top with no appropriate road connectivity and communication," Oram said.

Reacting to questions, he said there has been no cut in the tribal budget.

He said up to 40 percent of the money has just been given to the states.
