Telangana MLA reserved for making trouble with woman collector

Hyderabad, Jul 13 The police have booked a legislator of the ruling TRS for his asserted rash conduct with a woman collector Mahabubabad district in Telangana.

At a public meeting organised amid the program to launch 'Harita Haaram' (a huge ranch program) in Mahabubabad yesterday, the neighborhood MLA, B Shankar Nayak, purportedly carried on in a discourteous way with the collector.

The collector later complained to police after which a body of evidence was enlisted against the lawmaker, a senior police official told.

The Mahabubabad town police last night registered the case against Nayak under IPC segments 353 (attack or criminal force to deter public servant from release of his duty), 354 (ambush or criminal criminal force to woman with purpose to shock her modesty) and 509 (word, motion or act proposed to affront the humility of a lady).

In the event that indicted under segment 354, a man should be rebuffed with detainment of either depiction for a term which may stretch out to two years, or with fine, or with both.

Nearby TV channels circulated a recording which purportedly demonstrated the MLA professedly touching the collector's arm.

The MLA denied any wrongdoing on his part and said he regarded the gatherer and apologized to her.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had yesterday communicated resentment regarding the asserted rash conduct of his gathering MLA at the official occasion.
