CBI registers corruption case against district magistrate of Bihar's Aurangabad

New Delhi, Feb 23 The CBI has registered a corruption case against the district magistrate of Bihar's Aurangabad, Kanwal Tanuj, and others, officials said today.

The case relates to claimed abnormalities in procurement of land in the Nabinagar territory in the locale for a power plant by Bhartiya Rail Bijlee Company Ltd (BRBCL), an auxiliary of NTPC Ltd, they said.

The organization today completed inquiries at the home of the districtmagistrate in connection with the case.

As indicated by a CBI FIR, enlisted yesterday, around seven acres of land was illegally gained by the accused.

A different person, who has since died, was showed as the owner of the land.

It was uncovered that C Shiv Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, BRBCL, Nabinagar, had entered a criminal intrigue with Tanuj, unidentified officers of the organization, region organization and Gopal Prasad Singh, who has passed on, the CBI claimed.

As per the FIR, Tanuj, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Bihar framework, manufactured records and demonstrated Singh as the proprietor of the land.

As indicated by the strategy, ownership of land is taken within the sight of the proprietors after recognizable proof of their territory.

When BRBCL staff and district administration officials went to the site on April 11 and 12, 2017 for ownership, the claimant (Singh) allegedly couldn't distinguish his land and many villagers, who had assembled there, asserted the land did not have a place with him, the FIR read.

However, the blamed officers got a cheque for Rs 2.07 crore issued from BRBCL for Singh in May a year ago and the cash was along these lines pulled back, making a wrongful misfortune the organization, it read.

A case under pertinent segments of the Indian Penal Code was enrolled against Kumar, Tanuj, unidentified officers of BRBCL and nearby organization, and other private people, the CBI said.
