MP claims President Abdulla Yameen of inciting violence: Maldives emergency

Male (Maldives), Feb 15 Maldivian Member of Parliament (MP) Abdulla Shahid on Thursday claimed President Abdulla Yameen of inciting violence.

Shahid on Twitter stated, "President Yameen addressing his supporters last night incited them to violence by telling them that he trusted they would have killed and slaughtered the opposition on the off chance that he had complied with the SC Ruling of first Feb. We have a THUG not a President! #MaldivesInCrisis #StateOfEmergencyMV"

Recently, the military in the Maldives purportedly tossed around twelve Members of Parliament (MPs) from Joint Opposition out of the Parliament building.

"Parliament under military attack in #Maldives parliament today individuals were tossed out of the parliament building compound," Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Thilafaiy tweeted.

On Tuesday, the military blocked MPs from entering the Parliament building.

Prior this month, the Maldivian Supreme Court acquitted former Maldivian President Mohamed Nasheed, previous Maldivian Vice President Ahmed Adeeb and ordered the reinstatement of the 12 other parliamentary members.
