Rajinikanth acclaims Kamal Haasan, calls him 'efficient'

Chennai, Feb 23 Tamil superstar Rajinikanth today applauded his contemporary and Makkal Neethi Mayyam (MNM) founder Kamal Haasan, saying the "efficient" star would earn people's confidence.

Reacting to Haasan launching his political party MNM at Madurai on Wednesday, Rajinikanth, who is also set to take the political dive, said however he and Haasan would take diverse ways, their goal would be just open welfare.

"However, all (of us) tread different ways, what matters is public welfare," he told journalists here.

Gotten some information about his opinion on the MNM, Rajinikanth said Haasan was a "efficient" person.

"Kamal is efficient. He will earn people's confidence," he said.

The February 21 launch of Haasan's party was "very nice," and was efficient, he stated, including that he had just wished the 'Vishwaroopam' star on his political adventure however has by and by expanded his welcome after the launch of the MNM.

While Haasan launched his party Makkal Neethi Mayyam on Wednesday, Rajinikanth had declared in December a year ago that he will enter politics.

Haasan had yesterday written in a Tamil week by week that he had before held a "mystery" meeting with Rajinikanth to illuminate about his choice to enter politics.

The couple had then chosen that regardless of whether they were in contradicting camps, the regard for each other ought to be kept up.

On Sunday, days in front of the launch of his political party, Haasan had met Rajinikanth and had talks, and later met DMK President M Karunanidhi.

Then, reacting to a question today, Rajinikanth respected the all-party meeting met by the Tamil Nadu government yesterday to discuss the Cauvery issue.

The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister K Palaniswami, was gone to by DMK Working President and state Leader of Opposition M K Stalin, among others.

The meeting had decided that an all-get-party assignment will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking him to set up the Cauvery Management Board and Cauvery Water Regulatory Authority according to the summit court's request to set up the bodies inside a month and a half.

The all-party meeting was held days after the Supreme Court lessened the quantum of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu by 14.75 tmcft.
