Prime Minister Modi to introduce fourth container terminal at JNPT: Mumbai

Mumbai, Feb 17 Prime Minister Narendra Modi will introduce the fourth compartment terminal at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) in Mumbai tomorrow.

The JNPT's Fourth Container Terminal (FCT's) Phase I has is expected to boost container trade and logistics in a big way. It has been finished in a record time at a cost of Rs. 4,719 crore.

The FCT was created on design, manufacture, build, work and exchange (DBFOT) basis for a concession time of 30 years with an expected venture of Rs. 7,915 crore for both the stages.

The terminal will have the capacity to dock mother vessels, handle the greatest compartments ships from a quay length of one km, handle three holder transports at the same time with adequate yard space, and cranes which can achieve 22 pushes wide or more.

The FCT will be connected to the committed street get to and a rail cargo passage and will get around 350 holders for every rake other than arrangement for putting away 1,600 refrigerated (reefer) compartments for perishables, farming and cultivation deliver.
