Grenade hurled at the United States embassy in Montenegro

Podgorica (Montenegro), Feb 22 An unknown person flung a hand grenade, at the United States embassy in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, before exploding himself, the administration authorities said on Thursday.

As per the Guardian, a police vehicle blocked the road where the embassy is located. No harm has been reported.

Local media reports have expressed that the police have affirmed two unstable gadgets were exploded close to the premises. Street of Revolution, a noteworthy street on the border of central Podgorica, has been shut off.

The embassy warned US citizens to stay away until further notice.

"The US embassy in Podgorica advises US natives there is an active security circumstance at the US embassy in Podgorica. Avoid the embassy until further notice," it said on its website.

As indicated by the report, the U.S. established diplomatic ties with the small Balkan state in 2006 after it split from much bigger Serbia.
