Ayodhya case, Mar 8 Asaduddin Owaisi objects to Sri Ravi Shankar's name, calls for 'neutral' media to New Delhi: The leader of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday restricted the designated of otherworldly master Sri Ravi Shankar as an individual from a board by the Supreme Court to mediate the contentious Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case.

The AIMIM chief said that the top court ought to have selected a 'nonpartisan' middle person on the Ayodhya dispute case.

"Sri Ravi Shankar who has been named a middle person had before created an impression 'if Muslims don't surrender their case on Ayodhya,India will move toward becoming Syria.' It would've been exceptional if SC had delegated an impartial individual," he was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Sri Ravi Shankar was on Friday selected by the apex court as a go between of the three-part board, which also includes senior advocate Sriram Panchu. It will be going by former apex court judge F M I Kallifulla.

"We should all move together towards completion long-standing conflicts happily by maintaining harmony in society," Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said today. "Regarding everybody, swinging dreams to the real world, finishing long-standing clashes joyfully and keeping up concordance in the public arena - we should all move together towards these goals. #ayodhyamediation," he tweeted.

Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court referred the politically sensitive case for mediation and gave the panel eight weeks to complete the process.

A five-judge Constitution Bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said the panel should file a progress report of the procedures inside about a month and complete the process within eight weeks.

In case of any difficulty, the chairman will inform the apex court registry about it, it included. The court said that intervention procedures will be held according to the applicable norms.

Hindu bodies, except Nirmohi Akhara, have opposed the apex court's suggestion to refer the issue for mediation, while Muslim bodies have supported it.

The bench had concluded the hearing by asking stakeholders to give the names of possible mediators.

The apex court in its Wednesday hearing saw that the issue isn't around 1,500 square feet land, yet about religious notions. The seat said it was aware of the gravity and effect of the issue on "open conclusion" and furthermore on the "body politic of the nation".

It said the judges knew about the history and were seeing that the question is resolved amicably. "It isn't just about the property. It is about mind, heart and healing, if conceivable," the bench said

The bench also said it was not suitable to pre-judge that the mediation would fail and people would not agree with the decision.
