Talks on Kartarpur Corridor in progress among India and Pakistan on Thursday

Chandigarh Mar 14 Talks among India and Pakistan to finish the modalities for the Kartarpur Corridor is as of now in progress at Attari in Punjab's Amritsar District on Thursday morning. The discourse between the two countries comes precisely a month after the February 14 Pulwama dread assault which killed more than 40 CRPF troopers.

The Indian delegation is driven by SCL Das, Home Ministry Joint Secretary (Internal Security) and External Affairs Ministry Joint Secretary (PAI- - Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran) Deepak Mittal.

Talks start between India and Pakistan to examine and conclude the modalities for the #KartarpurCorridor, at Attari, Amritsar, that'll encourage Indian travelers to visit the blessed place of worship of Gurudwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur," tweeted MEA Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar.

The 18-part Pakistan Delegation is being driven by Director-General South Asia and SAARC Dr Mohammad Faisal and incorporates Director (India) at the Pakistan Foreign Ministry Dr Fariha Bugti, Joint Secretary of Pakistan's Interior Ministry Dilshad Ahmad, Joint Secretary and administrator of Evacuee Trust Property Board, (which deals with Hindu and Sikh holy places in Pakistan) Tahir Ehsan, Deputy DG Pakistan Rangers Brig M Akhtar Khan and Kartarpur passage Project agent chief Col Nadeem Afzal.

The Pakistani assignment left for India around 10 am on Thursday morning. Representative Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan Mohammad Faisal affirmed the same on Twitter.

"Proceeding with our soul of helpful commitment and adaptability and in accordance with our true endeavors to deescalate the circumstance for provincial harmony and security, we chose to consent to the India proposition and that is the reason we are here today," said Dr Mohammad Faisal in front of traverse to Indian side.

India will brief the media on the discussions around 4 pm. The two designations are relied upon to talk about the operational modalities of the hall and outskirt foundation arrangement. India will also raise the Khalistani purposeful publicity which Pakistan has given free rein in Sikh Shrines in its region.

An Indian designation will visit Islamabad on March 28.
