Jitin Prasada, Congress rubbish reports of him joining BJP, call it 'hypothetical'

Mar 22, Congress leader Jitin Prasada has rubbished reports of him joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) considering the question itself a 'hypothetical' one. "There should be some reason for such a question. For what reason should I answer a speculative inquiry," Prasada informed news organization ANI when solicited regarding the likelihood from him joining the saffron party.

Congress representative Randeep Surjewala also denied the reports calling them baseless.

Prasada who is a two-time Lok Sabha MP, is viewed as near Congress president Rahul Gandhi. He won from Shahjahanpur and Dhaurahra Lok Sabha electorates in the 2004 and 2009 Lok Sabha elections respectively.

Him joining the BJP will be a big blow to the Congress as he comes from a family of Congress loyalists. His father Jitendra Prasada was a Congress VP and served as the political advisor to previous head administrators Rajiv Gandhi and PV Narasimha Rao while his grandfather Jyoti Prasada too was related with the party.

The reports of his moving far from the Congress emege only seven days after a veteran gathering pioneer Tom Vadakkan joined the BJP on 14 March 14 2019 within the sight of Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and other top BJP leaders. Vadakkan after the entering the BJP overlay had asserted that that he was profoundly harmed by the Congress' remain on the Pulwama terror assault and had then chosen to leave the party .

"The assault by Pakistan on our land and the response from my gathering was pitiful without a doubt. I left the party with overwhelming heart. On the off chance that a party is working against national interest, there is no other choice yet to abandon it," he hosted said including that the get-together had resorted to a practice of "use and throw".

The BJP may field Vadakkan in the Lok Sabha elections from a seat in Kerala. Vadakkan who was effectively working for the gathering for more than two decades, was viewed as in the nearby circuit of the Gandhi family and was party’s media face during discussions and debates.
