Lucknow, Mar 28 BSP president Mayawati Thursday lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for "net abuse of intensity and apparatus" in addressing the country without earlier permission of the Election Commission and trusted that the survey body will act in an exemplary manner.
She was referring to Modi's address to the country on Wednesday declaring India's successful test of an enemy of satellite missile that put the nation in an exclusive club of space super powers.
"The EC has formed a committee to examine the content of PM's location yesterday but the real issue is why and how the PM addressed to the nation without its earlier consent. It is the gross misuse of power & machinery for the electoral benefits. EC must act in an exemplary manner," the BSP leader tweeted.
"Past experience proves that like law and order, BJP leaders are habitual offenders in violating Model Code of Conduct. Also, PM Mr Modi again flouted poll norms by addressing to the nation without earlier authorization of EC however there was no such crisis. Expectation the EC acts promptly," she said in another tweet.
India shot down one of its satellites in space on Wednesday with an anti-satellite missile to exhibit this unpredictable capacity, making it just the fourth nation to have used such a weapon.
Declaring India has set up itself as a worldwide space control after the achievement of the activity 'Mission Shakti', Modi said the rocket hit a live satellite flying in a Low Earth Orbit after it traversed a separation of very nearly 300 km from earth within three minutes of its launch.
