New Delhi, Mar 29 Two days after India reported the success of Mission Shakti with A-SAT missile launch, Russia urged India to take the effort to prevent an arms race in outer space
"Russia, expects to continue to make necessary effort to prevent an arms race in outer space. The idea of developing a multilateral legally binding instrument for keeping space serene dependent on the Russian-Chinese draft treaty," Russia said in an official explanation, quoted news organization ANI.
"We noticed the test of anti-satellite weapons led by India on March 27, because of which an Indian spacecraft - a target- in a low earth orbit was hit by an interceptor ballistic missile.
"We feature the nondirectedness of this test against any specific country declared by the Indian leadership, just as the consolation of the progression of New Delhi remote arrangement to keep the organization of weapons in space and accordingly the improvement of a weapons contest in it," it included.
In a broadcast speech, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the successful test-firing an enemy of satellite missile by shooting down a live satellite. India turned into the fourth nation over the world after the US, Russia and China to obtain the key capacity to shoot down enemy satellites.
Russia also slammed the United States for weaponisation of space.
