Nagpur, Mar 29 Nagpur Lok Sabha Constituency, is one of 48 Lok Sabha constituencies in the western state of Maharashtra and will make its choice in the 2019 election on April 11.
Nagpur constituency covers six assembly segments – Nagpur South West, Nagpur South, Nagpur East, Nagpur Central, Nagpur West and Nagpur North which is also saved for members from Scheduled Caste.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Nitin Gadkari, of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) – won with a huge margin of practically 2.84 lakh votes. He had crushed Indian National Congress (INC) Vilas Muttemwar.
Gadkari is currently the Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.
The voter turnout figure was at 57.12 percent crosswise over 1828 polling stations. Some of different competitors in the conflict were Anjali Damania of the Aam Aadmi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party's Dr. Mohan Gaikwad.
In the year 2009, Vilas Muttemwar of the INC figured out how to verify his triumphant position by getting 24 thousand votes against BJP's Banwarilal Purohit.
The voter turnout across over 1668 polling stations for this election here was 43.44 percent. Some of the other candidates in the fray were BSP's Manikrao Vaidya and Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh's Yashwant Manohar.
