CBI bribery case: Special Director Asthana moves High Court against FIR

New Delhi, Oct 23 Special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director Rakesh Asthana Tuesday moved the Delhi High Court against the lodging of a FIR against him in a bribery case. He also looked for court's heading that no coercive move be made against him.

His request, made reference to before Chief Justice Rajendra Menon, will be up for hearing in the post-lunch session.

Prior in the day, CBI Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Devender Kumar additionally moved court testing his capture regarding the pay off case.

The meeting for both the cases has been settled for the post-lunch court session.

Kumar was captured Monday evening for supposed adulteration of records in the bribery allegations into a corruption case including meat exporter Moin Qureshi.

The issue identifies with the formation of a bogus articulation of agent Sathish Sana, an observer in the Moin Qureshi case.

According to the records, the statement was recorded on September 26, 2018, in Delhi. In any case, it was found amid the investigation that Sana was absent in Delhi and was in Hyderabad on that day. Sana really joined examination at Delhi on October 1.

In an exceptional situation, the office booked its second-in-order Asthana, who's in an open fight with CBI chief Director Alok Verma, in a case of alleged bribery.

Asthana has been blamed for favoring Sana for a situation in lieu of pay off of Rs 5 crore gotten by mediator Manoj Prasad.

Late night, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stepped in the midst of the fracas between the top two officials.

The PMO summoned CBI Director Alok Verma and Asthana in an apparent bid to put a top on the open war between the two authorities, who had leveled bribery allegations against each other.
