Rahul on #MeToo movement: Time for truth to be told 'loud and clear'

New Delhi, Oct 12 Congress chief Rahul Gandhi Friday turned out in help of the #MeToo movement, saying it is the time for the truth to be told "loud and clear in order to bring about change".

He didn't comment on the charges of sexual harassment against Union minister M J Akbar.

The time has come for everybody figures out how to approach ladies with deference and poise, Gandhi said on Twitter.

The #MeToo movement has assembled pace in the course of the last fortnight with scores of ladies standing up on lewd behavior at the work environment and support pouring in from different quarters.

It's about time everybody figures out how to approach ladies with deference and pride. I'm happy the space for the individuals who don't, is shutting. Reality should be advised noisy and clear with the end goal to realize transform, he tweeted, using the hashtag MeToo.

He didn't state anything on Akbar, who has been accused by several former women colleagues of sexual harassment when he filled in as editorial manager at various media associations.

Requests have raised for activity against the minister of state for external affairs.

Gandhi Thursday said the MeToo movement is a "major issue" and he will give his detailed view on it at a press conference.
