New Delhi, Oct 25 The Maharashtra government Thursday moved the Supreme Court challenging the Bombay High Court order by which the augmentation of time conceded to state police to finish up test in the Koregaon Bhima violence case was set aside.
The High Court Wednesday had suppressed the lower court's decision by which the Maharashtra Police was conceded more opportunity to finish up the examination and document the chargesheet against legal counselor Surendra Gadling and others in the brutality case in which a few rights activist had been made accused.
The Pune Police captured Gadling, Nagpur University teacher Shoma Sen, Dalit dissident Sudhir Dhawale, extremist Mahesh Raut and Kerala local Rona Wilson in June for their supposed connections with Maoists under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
A bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi considered the entries of legal advisor Nishant Katneshwar, showing up for the Maharashtra government, that the interest should have been heard on a critical premise.
