India needs strong leadership, not shaky alliance, to help development: Arun Jaitley

New Delhi, Oct 16 India needs solid and conclusive authority at the Centre to advance development, dispose of neediness and change the nation into a created country, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said Tuesday.

With general elections due ahead of schedule one year from now, Jaitley said the nation does not require a 'unstable coalition' government and people who need comprehension of strategies in charge.

Quick basic leadership of the Modi government has helped in handling of the IL&FS emergency, Jaitley said while tending to the 98th yearly session of Assocham.

He said a "solid and conclusive authority at the Centre" is expected to keep up India's high development direction, increment income and fabricate better framework.

"India needs a government and leadership which has absolute clarity about the direction so that this unique position which IMF refers to as a sweet spot in the world, this sweet spot we continue to occupy for next two decades. Indian economy developed at 8.2 percent in the April-June quarter of the current financial. It developed at 6.7 percent in 2017-18 financial.
