Rahul Gandhi: If voted to power, Congress will satisfy OROP commitments

New Delhi, Oct 27 A Congress-drove government would satisfy every one of the responsibilities the gathering had made on the 'one rank, one benefits' issue, Rahul Gandhi told a group of ex-servicemen on Saturday.

At a meeting with the resigned guard staff, the Congress president said that if his gathering is casted a ballot to control in the 2019 parliamentary race, it will satisfy their requests, including 'one rank, one annuity' (OROP).

Raking up the Rafale fighter jet deal, he said the Narendra Modi government gave out Rs 30,000 crore to industrialist Anil Ambani, but refused to meet the demands of the soldiers on OROP.

The amount of Rs 30,000 crore was all that could possibly be needed to unravel the OROP issue, he said after the 30-minute gathering.

The Congress has alleged that the Anil Ambani-led company was supported by the Modi government on the offset contract of the Rafale bargain. The private firm has denied the allegations.
