New Delhi, Oct 24 The interim CBI chief Nageshwar Rao, named on late Tuesday night, will oversee every sensitive case including matters related Vijay Mallya and AgustaWestland.
Rao, previously posted as the CBI Joint Director, was delegated as the between time leader of the analytical organization by the Prime Minister-drove Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Tuesday.
On Wednesday morning, CBI Director Alok Verma, Special Director Rakesh Asthana and Additional Director AK Sharma were sent on leave. At least three top officers working closely with the top two feuding CBI bosses have also been sent on leave.
Verma has now moved toward the Supreme Court testing the choice. His case will be heard on Friday, October 26.
Considering it an uncommon circumstance, Union Minister Arun Jaitley Wednesday reported that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) will test into the pay off body of evidence against Asthana.
Later in the day, the CBI also delegated another group to test the bribery charges against Asthana. Several top officers in the analytical organization were additionally exchanged amid the day.
