Rupee droops 33 paise to close at record low of 74.39

Mumbai, Oct 9 The rupee slumped by 33 paise to finish at a fresh lifetime low of 74.39 against the US dollar Tuesday on high crude oil costs, strengthening of the greenback and unabated foreign fund outflows.

At the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex), the rupee made a wary recuperation of 18 paise to 73.88 against the US dollar in early trade on fresh selling of the American cash by banks and exporters.

Be that as it may, the domestic currency neglected to manage the energy after Brent rough broke the USD 84 for every barrel-check again and the US dollar fortified abroad.

It finally closed at 74.39 against the US dollar, around 33 paise, denoting its 6th straight session of decay.

On Monday, the domestic unit plummeted by 30 paise to close at record low of 74.06.
