Gujarat CM Rupani focuses at Congress for brutality against migrant workers

Lucknow Oct 15, Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani on Monday pointed the accusatory finger at Congress for the violence against migrant workers that had occured in his state a week ago.

Rupani is in Uttar Pradesh to welcome Yogi Adityanath for the launch ceremony of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's 'Statue of Unity' at Narmada bank in Gujarat on October 31. Addressing a press conference, he accepted the open door to quiet feelings of dread about workers from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar being targeted back home. "Gujarat govt has found a way to guarantee the safety and security of non-Gujaratis in the state," he said. "We'll make legitimate move against the MLA who gave an inciting speech and we have also captured every one of the people involved in the incident."

Rupani was referring to a speech made by Congress MLA Alpesh Thakor in which he said Gujaratis are not landing positions in Gujarat since they are being taken by those from UP and Bihar. What pursued were dangers issued to numerous Hindi-talking specialists by Kshatriya Thakor Sena, driving a mass departure of sorts. The whole episode originated from a capture of a vagrant specialist on charges of assaulting a minor.

While Thakor has said migrants were not fleeing but rather returning home for Chhath Puja, the BJP hosts excoriated Congress and requested that the gathering expel him. "Congress' efforts to instigate savagery in the state has fizzled. In any case, I think Congress President Rahul Gandhi should make a move. Congress' stand ought to be clear and the party should take proper action," said Rupani on Monday.

The political slugfest however has not been uneven. While Rupani tore into Congress, he himself was shown black flags a day earlier - reportedly by youth workers of the Congress party in UP.
