Delhi High Court expands P Chidambaram's interim protection from capture: INX Media case

New Delhi, July 3 The Delhi High Court on Tuesday expanded previous back priest P Chidambaram's interim protection from capture in the INX media case.

The between time insurance from capture has been stretched out till August 1.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) looked for more opportunity to file a response on P Chidambaram's anticipatory bail plea as they need to lead the custodial interrogation of blamed.

On June 25, CBI had moved toward the Supreme Court against the safeguard allowed to Karti Chidambaram by the Delhi High Court for the situation. Karti, son of former Finance Minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram, is blamed in the INX media money laundering case.

In March, the Delhi High Court conceded safeguard to Karti for the situation. Karti was captured in February for his claimed part in encouraging Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) leeway for INX Media Ltd and its chiefs, Peter and Indrani Mukerjea.

Karti allegedly took service charges for getting the leeway to INX Media for accepting assets from abroad worth Rs 305 crore in 2007 when his dad P Chidambaram was the Union back priest in the Congress-drove United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government.
